Mr Maxwell Wumbilla SALIFU

Director, General Services

Mr. M. Wumbilla Salifu joined the Authority in 2008 as an Environmental/Community Relations Officer with the responsibility to undertake the resettlement of persons affected by the Bui Hydroelectric Project (BHP). He was the lead person for the development of Environmental and Social Studies with respect to the BHP such as the ESMP, ESIA, Salvage Archaeology, Health Impact Assessment Study, and the acquisition of environmental permits, among others.

In 2013, he was promoted to the position of Manager, External and Community Relations and later the position of Manager, Resources and Environment Department.

In recognition of his outstanding achievement, high level of professionalism and outstanding contribution to the achievement of the Authority’s business goals, Mr. Salifu in 2016 received an award for professional achievement from the Management of BPA.

In June 2020, he was appointed as the Director of the General Services Department.

As a Director of General Services Department, he is responsible for the management and administration of about 1,843sqkm land span acquired for the Bui HP, administration of health, safety and environment issues, management of the estates and establishment of a cordial relationship with the Project Affected Persons (PAPs).

Mr. Salifu’s leadership has seen the development of Business Modules and establishment of about 490-PAPs within requirements of the modules to operate as independent business entities, navigated through the uncharted arena of COVID-19 management successfully, ensured an improved scenery of the BGS and enhanced the cooperation of the custodians to the Bui HP Acquired Lands in its management.

Mr. Salifu attended Mfantsipim School. He holds a BSc in Renewable Natural Resources Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a degree in Law (LLB) from Mountcrest University College. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wuhan University of Technology, China.
