BPA Commissions Mechanised Borehole in Jama

As part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and enhancing the well-being of resettled communities, the Bui Power Authority has undertaken the initiative to install a mechanized borehole in Jama, located within the Bole District of the Savannah Region. The decision to commission this borehole was prompted by a formal request from the Chief and inhabitants of Jama, seeking assistance in securing access to clean and potable water.

The official handover ceremony of the mechanized borehole to the Jama Community occurred on July 13, 2023. Representing the Chief Executive Officer of BPA, Hon. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi, Mr. Salifu Wumbilla, Director of Estates, officiated the event. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the facility and urged the community to uphold its upkeep diligently.

Recognizing the necessity for a structured maintenance system, Mr. Jacob Pambo, the Assembly member of Jama, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the community to BPA for their prompt response to their appeal. He assured that the community would prioritize the maintenance of the borehole.

Attending the ceremony were notable figures including Nana Krah Timothy Kwabena (Jama Kontihene), Nana Kwaku Sarfo (Okyeame), Mr. John Buis (Elder Jama Palace), Francis Kwapebaa (unit committee member), and representatives from BPA.

The installation marks the tenth out of twelve mechanized boreholes currently under construction by BPA in resettled communities, reaffirming the Authoritie’s commitment to improving living conditions and access to essential resources.
