The Bui Power Authority took part in the ‘Green Ghana Project’ which was launched by the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, earlier this year.
Planting a tree on behalf of Bui Power Authority, Dr. George Tettey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Finance and Services), stressed the need for the preservation of our forests, which plays a big part in the production of rain which among others, determines our water levels for hydro power production.
Realising this need, BPA launched a similar initiative in 2012 dubbed the BPA’s Forest Resources Enhancement Programme (FREP). This programme, since its inception has generated a plantation of over 20,000 trees spanning an area of over 430 acres, in the Bui enclave.
Seedlings were also made available to staff for their participation in the Green Ghana Project.
