The Bui Power Authority (BPA) has received a novelty centre dubbed the FRED OWARE INNOVATION CENTER (FOIC) from the sole financier of the centre, Fred Oware.
Mr. Oware who is the Chief Executive Officer of BPA solely funded the innovation centre from his personal funds for the project affected people and youth of the neighboring communities of the BPA Resettlement Township.
After the receipt of the centre by Ambassador Afare Apeadu Donkor, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BPA, it was commissioned together with the Chief of Bui, Nana Kwadwo Wuo II and the Chief Executive of the Banda District Assembly, Ms Mary Konneh.
Ambassador Apeadu Donkor said “it is our very firm resolve that this legacy will continue and outlive Fred’s tenure because of the immense benefits it has for the people of this community. The Authority in receiving this great legacy donated to the Community to be managed by Bui Power Authority under our Corporate Social Responsibility pledges to continue in your good works to promote your vision and mission by developing a scheme to ensure the continuous sustenance of this centre in the years to come.”
The FOIC will expose students to the world of science, technology, and robotics. According to Mr Oware, the centre should help curb the fear of mathematics and science. He also believes that “maybe the next Albert Einstein will come from Ghana and not from any rich home but a community such as Bui.”
Nana Wuo II enstooled Mr Oware as the Development Chief with the stool name “Nana Ababio Oware”.
