Bui Power Authority breaks ground for new staff housing

The Board of Directors of BPA on have commenced a project to construct new staff accommodation for its staff at the Bui Generating Station. The project, which is expected to be completed in 30 months, will see the construction of eight different six unit blocks of a modern two-bedroom apartment for staff.

The Chief Executive Officer, Mr Samuel Kofi Dzamesi stressed BPA’s commitment to expanding the dam’s power generating capacity hence the need to ensure workers were provided residential accommodation at the dam’s site.

He explained that only 150 out of the 270 workers were accommodated at the site,. He also stated that the Authority was working to enhance social facilities and amenities, including internet connectivity and additional health facilities.

“Staff motivation is a priority for the Board”, he said. He also gave the assurance that the Conditions of Service of BPA staff will be prioritised. he reiterated BPA’s commitment to improving the socio-economic well-being of the Project Affected Persons.
