In support and solidarity to our sister company and to the people of the Volta Region which is host to our Tsatsadu Generating Station, the Bui Power Authority, under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi, stepped forward to provide crucial relief items to the Volta River Authority. The donation, which took place on November 2, 2023 at Sogakope, was a compassionate gesture to aid the Volta River Authority in its mission to assist the victims affected by the spillage.
The spillage, which caused widespread flooding on many communities, displaced families and caused significant distress. Recognizing the urgent need for humanitarian assistance, the Bui Power Authority, in a remarkable demonstration of solidarity, reached out to their sister company to offer essential relief items.
Accompanied by some Deputy Directors and staff, Mr. Emmanuel Tandoh (DCEO EOT) presented the relief items, symbolizing the organization’s unwavering commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility and the welfare of communities affected by the Akosombo spillage.
The relief items donated included bags of rice, oil, milo, milk, mackerel, tin tomatoes and bottles of mineral drinking water. These vital supplies were intended to support the Volta River Authority in its efforts to alleviate the immediate challenges faced by flood victims and ensure they have access to nourishing food, clean water, and sustenance during this trying period.
Mr. Emmaunel Tandoh, making the donation on behalf of the CEO, expressed his sympathy to the affected families and conveyed the Bui Power Authority’s dedication to making a positive impact during times of crisis. He stated, “Our hearts go out to the families impacted by the Akosombo spillage. As a responsible corporate entity, we recognize the importance of standing by our fellow citizens during challenging times. This donation, made on behalf of our Chief Executive Officer, is a heartfelt gesture to support the Volta River Authority in their relief efforts and provide much-needed assistance to the victims as they work towards recovery.”
The Volta River Authority welcomed the gesture with gratitude, recognizing the significance of collaboration and support during this period.
