Bui Power Authority Pays Tribute to the Departed Eight

On Saturday, 9th August, the Acting Chief Executive Officer of Bui Power Authority, Ing. Kow Sam, led a delegation to lay a wreath at the forecourt of the Jubilee House in honour of eight public officials who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter accident while en route to a national assignment in Obuasi, Ashanti Region.

Speaking after the ceremony, Ing. Sam, on behalf of the Board, Management, and Staff, expressed solidarity and heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Government, the Ghana Armed Forces, and all citizens, assuring that the Authority stands ready to offer any necessary support.

The delegation included Deputy Chief Executive Officers, Mrs. Jemimah Fayah (Finance and Services) and Ing. Samuel Nimako-Boateng (Engineering, Operations and Technical); Director, Executive Office, Ing. Kwadwo Brentuo; Director, Engineering Services, Ing. Kwaku Akosa; Director, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr. Maxmillian Acquah; Manager, Events and Protocol, Ms. Fati Saaka; as well as Andrew Gyawu-Mensah and Yaa Sapormaa Poakwa of the PR Unit.

The delegation later joined President John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved families, government officials, and the public at the State House for an “Evening of Reflections and Memorials” in honour of the departed.

The victims of the unfortunate accident were Dr. Omane Boamah, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Squadron Leader Peter Anala, Fying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo.

In this time of grief, we remain united in honouring their legacy, ensuring their memory inspires the continued pursuit of excellence in national service.
