The Bui Generating Station(BGS) welcomed the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Patrick Agyin-Frimpong, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the Ghana Armed Forces and the Bui Power Authority (BPA). This strategic engagement sought to deepen understanding of operations at the BGS and affirm the role of the Tactical Air Command in securing National Energy Infrastructure.
Air Vice Marshal Agyin-Frimpong, accompanied by Air Commodore Elvis King Arneson, arrived at the BGS on Monday July 21, 2025, and were received by BPA’s Deputy CEO, Engineering, Operations & Technical, Ing. Samuel Nimako-Boateng, and other Directors, on behalf of the Ag. CEO, Ing. Kow Eduakwa Sam.

In his welcome address, Ing. Nimako-Boateng expressed appreciation for the consistent support of the Armed Forces in curbing illegal mining activities that pose a threat to the reservoir and the operational stability of the dam.

To reinforce BPA’s security infrastructure, the delegation, led by current Base Commander, Air Commodore Kwabena Kissiedu Manukure Atiemo, visited the proposed site between Carpenter and Jogboi, earmarked for the development of a Tactical Air Command base. The new base is expected to enhance security coverage across the Bui enclave.
