The Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority, Fred Oware, has been adjudged the 2020 Energy Personality of the Year at the 4th Ghana Energy Awards, the most prestigious title of the awards.
Find out more »BPA COMMISSIONS HYDRO-SOLAR HYBRID
The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned Ghana’s first Hydro-Solar Hybrid power generating system, which includes a 5MW Floating Solar PV System, also the first in the West African subregion. This forms part of the first phase of a 250MWp solar project, which is being implemented in phases of 50MWp.

TSATSADU GENERATING STATION COMMISSIONING
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned Ghana’s first micro hydroelectric plant at Alavanyo, in the Volta Region. The Tsatsadu Generating Station (TGS), situated on the Tsatsadu Waterfalls in the Hohoe District of the Volta Region, has a capacity of 45kW with the possibility of adding another 40-60kW capacity turbine in the future.

FORWARD OPERATING BASE AT BUI
The Bui Power Authority is collaborating with the Ghana Armed Forces to build a Forward Operating base (FOB) at the Bui Generating Station (BGS) to among others, provide security for the national assets on the Bui Hydroelectric Project Acquired Land of about 1,800 square kilometres.
