John Paintsil Football Academy presents jersey to BPA CEO

At a short ceremony at the Head Office of the Bui Power Authority in Accra on Thursday, December 15, 2022, former Black Stars Footballer, John Paintsil, who runs the John Paintsil Football Academy presented a jersey to the Chief Executive Officer of the Bui Power Authority, Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi, as a symbol of the collaboration between BPA and John Paintsil Football Academy.

Presenting the jersey that was framed, John Paintsil said, he was grateful for the opportunity given to him by the BPA CEO, Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi to scout, train, and develop sporting talents within and around the Bui Generating Station.

In response, Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi thanked John Paintsil and his academy for their partnership with BPA. He also mentioned that he enjoyed watching John Paintsil play his professional football in Israel and in many other countries. He is therefore confident about his professionalism and ability to develop and instill discipline in the sporting talents being unearthed at the Bui Generating Station enclave.

Hon. Samuel Dzamesi further added that, since he assumed office as Chief Executive Officer of the BPA, he has noticed the mass of football talents that exist within and around the Bui Generating Station hence the need for this partnership with the John Paintsil Football Academy through the BPA Talent (Football) Development he initiated to unearth sporting talents. He added that the Authority has signed a contract with a developer to construct an AstroTurf at the Bui enclave so that the communities can have a better field to play.

About BPA Talent (Football) Development

The BPA Talent Development forms part of the Authority’s corporate social
responsibility and a long-term vision of the Chief Executive Officer to develop
the sporting talents of the youth within the Bui Generating Station enclave,
with emphasis on football as part of measures to promote human resource
development as well as improve the socio-economic wellbeing of the project
affected persons.

In that regard, the Authority signed a partnership earlier this year with
John Paintsil Football Academy for which five footballers after a competitive
football gala were selected from around and within the Bui Generating Station
catchment to be trained at the John Paintsil Football Academy fully funded by
BPA.
