COVID-19 IN BPA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Bui Power Authority (BPA) has instituted measures against infectious diseases, including the novel coronavirus (SAR-CoV-2).
STRATEGIES
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ghana, BPA has put in place two (2) main strategies as part of efforts to the control of the spread of the virus within all its operational areas. These 2 strategies are detailed below:
BPA COVID-19 Policy Initiatives
To reduce the risks of the infection of the disease, BPA Management put in place some Policy Initiatives as follow:
- Procurement of personal Protective Equipment and strictly use of such PPE
- Staff working from home.
- Staff taking early Annual Leave
- Suspension of Excursions and trips to Bui Generating Station
- Access restriction and movement limitations to the Authority’s facilities
- Daily screening of all workers at the Bui Generating Station, Tsatsadu Generating Station and BPA Heights
- Daily screening of contractor staff/laborers on all construction sites
- Accessing cafeteria in batches to ensure Social Distancing
- Periodic updates on the pandemic to staff
- Daily COVID-19 status update of the Executive Office and entire BPA staff on different Social Media Platforms
- Weekly brief of the Executive Office
- Inauguration of an Infectious Disease Control Committee being chaired by the Chief Executive Officer
- Procurement and supply of Immune boosting supplements to all Staff
- Isolated/Weekly/Monthly Disinfection of all BPA Offices
These policies are being strictly followed to curb the incidence of COVID-19 within BPA operational areas, thus preventing uninterrupted power operations.
