Hon. Samuel Kofi DZAMESI
Chief Executive Officer
Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi is a Ghanaian Engineer and Politician.
He was born on 3rd April 1959 in Dzodze, which is located in the Volta Region of Ghana. He had his secondary education at St. Martins Secondary School in Nsawam from 1971 to 1977 for his O-level certificate, and at the Accra Academy from 1978 to 1980 for his A-level certificate. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and a Diploma in Marketing.
He has a varied and rich career history spanning from 1986 to present (38 years and counting). He began his career in 1986 as an Assistant Area Engineer at the Ghana Railway Corporation. In 1988, he volunteered as a Technical Assistant at the Agricultural Research Institute in Israel and then from 1992 to 1994, he worked as a Sales Manager at L’Air Liquide Ghana Limited. He also worked as the Managing Director of Skoda Limited from 1995 to 1998. From there, he moved to Teysd Consultancy Services as CEO from 1999 to 2000.
In the year 2001, he was appointed by the then President of the Republic of Ghana, HE John Agyekum Kufuor as the Deputy Volta Regional Minister until 2004. He was made the substantive Volta Regional Minister from 2005 to 2008 under the same administration.
From 2009 to 2016, he served as the Chief Executive Officer for Skoda Limited and Teysd Consultancy Services.
For his exemplary service to the state, he was again appointed during the first term of HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana in 2017 to 2020 as the Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs. As Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, he engaged feuding factions in various chieftaincy disputes in the country to find lasting solutions for peace including the Dagbon chieftaincy conflict. He also set up committees to strategize and facilitate yearly pilgrimages from Ghana to Israel and other Holy sites in the Christian world.
Hon. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi was appointed by HE the President in his second term and confirmed by the Bui Power Authority Board of Directors as Chief Executive Officer on September 3rd, 2021.
Hon. Dzamesi has exhibited exceptional leadership throughout his career, earning recognition with numerous awards. Notably, he holds two honorary doctorate degrees: one in Engineering from Azteca University and another in Global Leadership and Management from the European International University of Paris.
Hon. Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dazamesi is a member of the Ghana Institute of Engineers. He is married with children.
