Eric Yaw Opoku ACHEAMPONG

Eric Yaw Opoku Acheampong is a seasoned Geodetic Engineer with over two decades of professional experience. He holds a BSc in Geodetic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University and has completed management training programs at GIMPA in Ghana and CBN International in Australia.
Beginning his career as a Teaching Assistant at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2003, he has worked at Geo-Tech Systems Ltd, Dredging International, and Bui Power Authority (BPA). His expertise spans topographical, hydrographical, aerial photogrammetric mapping, cadastral, and engineering surveying. He has contributed to significant projects like the George Walker Bush Jr. Highway, the Accra Sports Stadium rehabilitation, and the New American Embassy construction.
Joining BPA in 2008, Eric led the Land Surveying team during the dam construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications and identifying critical project areas, such as a low-lying area on the Bongase-Banda Ahenkro Road. From the the operational phase, he has shaped the Land Administration, PAPs, and Community Relations Units.
Also, his efforts in land administration have led to sustainable development and the acquisition of renewable sites. He successfully implemented a Livelihood Enhancement Program for over 660 Project Affected Persons and developed fishing regulation measures for the Bui Lake. His stewardship in community relations has earned BPA high ratings and community trust.
Eric’s leadership skills, strategic thinking, problem-solving abilities, and empathy make him an invaluable leader of the Human and Natural Resources Department and a significant asset to the Authority.
