Director, Finance

Mr. Eric Sam is an experienced Chartered Accountant with a degree in Accounting as well as an MBA in Finance.

He currently serves as the Director of Finance at Bui Power Authority, where he is responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including revenue reporting, staff training, budgeting, fund disbursement, risk management, policy implementation, and financial process improvement.

Eric has demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, team building, decision-making, and problem-solving. His career began at the Energy Commission of Ghana as an Accounts Officer, where he managed Energy Fund accounts and cash management. He joined Bui Power Authority as an Accounts Officer and progressed through various roles, including Financial Accounting Assistant Manager, Finance Manager, Senior Finance Manager, Deputy Director of Finance, before assuming his current role as the Director of Finance.

During his tenure at Bui Power Authority, Eric played a pivotal role in developing internal controls and creating the organization’s first Accounting and Procedural Manual. He was also instrumental in implementing the initial financial systems for the Bui Development Secretariat and led the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics Systems 2012, with ongoing efforts to upgrade to Dynamics 365.

Eric Sam has over 19 years of extensive experience across accounting, administration, auditing, payroll management, and financial control. Throughout his career, he has consistently demonstrated a keen understanding of financial systems and a strong commitment to precision and integrity.

He is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
