Hon. Salifu Saeed is a trained and practicing Development Professional, with a Master’s Degree in Development Management from GIMPA and a Bachelor’s Degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies.

Recognizing the importance of continuous learning and growth, Hon. Salifu Saeed recently obtained a certificate in Conflict Management and Prevention from the Kofi Annan International Centre for Peace Building. Throughout his career, he has also acquired various certificates of participation in relevant development courses, further enhancing his professional development as a politician.

With over twenty years of experience in development, Hon. Salifu Saeed has held both direct implementation and managerial positions in various development-oriented organizations in the Northern Region.

Hon. Salifu Saeed has been a committed and trusted member of the New Patriotic Party in the Northern Region, serving in different capacities during opposition, government, and post-government periods. He notably served as the District Chief Executive for the Nanumba North District from 2005 to 2008, during which time he successfully oversaw the security of the traditional area. In 2017, when the party regained power, Hon. Salifu Saeed was appointed as the Northern Regional Minister, a position he held from 2017 to 2021.

In addition to his political engagements, Hon. Salifu Saeed has also been involved in various developmental projects as a development worker and businessman. These endeavors have provided him with valuable external exposure, allowing him to gain experience from countries such as the UK, USA, Kenya, Uganda, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and South Africa.

Hon. Salifu Saeed was appointed a Board Member of Bui Power Authority by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on 3rd September 2021.
