Mr. Pascal Kanbonnabah has previously worked for Ashanti Goldfields Company as the Staff Manager and later as the Human Resources Manager for AngloGold Ashanti Limited Iduapriem Mine (formerly Ashanti Goldfields Company Limited) in Tarkwa (2003 – 2007). He later became the Head of Human Resources for the company in Ghana (2007) and later the Divisional Labour Relations Manager for West Africa (2007 – 2009). Later in 2009, he was appointed to the position of Vice President of Human Resources, overseeing the Human Resources and Administration functions at the Obuasi Mine, Tarkwa Mine, and the Accra Office.

Pascal left AngloGold Ashanti in December 2011 to go into consulting. He consulted for one year for Newmont Mining Corporation (Africa Region from February 2012 to January 2013). At the end of the consulting contract, he assumed the role of Regional Human Resources Manager responsible for Labour Relations and Operations Human Resources (Africa Region) for Newmont. About a year later, he was appointed as the Regional Vice President for Human Resources, Africa Region.; a position he held until September 2016.

He is a trained Advisor in Requisite Organization and specializes in Organization Development & Effectiveness, among others.

Pascal has consulted in Human Resources and Labour Relations on retainer basis for Atlas Copco (2017-2018) and for Bui Power Authority as the Human Resources Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer (2018-2019). He was subsequently appointed as Deputy Director, Administration and later Director, Administration in July 2020.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from GIMPA, and an ELP from University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute, and a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society for Human Resources Management, all of the USA. He is also a member of the Institute of Human Resources Management Practitioners, Ghana and the Society for Human Resources Management, USA. He has presented at conferences, including the Global Conference of the Society for Human Resource Management held in Las Vegas in 2011, USA.
