VOLTA TRADE AND INVESTMENT FAIR TEAM VISITS TSATSADU GENERATING STATION

Organizers of the Volta Trade and Investment Fair 2021, paid a working visit to the Tsatsadu Generating Station (TGS) constructed by the Bui Power Authority (BPA) as part of the on-gong fair in the Volta region of Ghana.

The Trade and Investment Fair under the theme, “Promoting Sustainable Trade and Investment, was designed as a platform to promote and strengthen businesses, trade and investment opportunities in the Volta Region.

Its focus is to provide an enabling environment for Agribusinesses, Tourism, ICT companies, blue chip companies, trade groups/associations, government investment/export promotion agencies, institutions, and other private sector organizations to engage new business partners for trade and investment relations and conclude business deals.

The aim of the visit to the TGS was to showcase its benefits to the region and Ghana in terms of its tourism potential and a site for Engineering students to study the practical aspects of their profession.

The Volta Trade Fair Team was conducted around the weir, the diversion channel, the forebay tank and the powerhouse of the TGS. The Team was impressed about the technology employed which ensured that the environment wasn’t destroyed because of the implementation of the Project.

The Team was also impressed with the fact that the water used for generation was not polluted post-power-generation, making it clean and safe for usage by communities downstream.

The Volta Regional Economic Planning Director, Rev. Isaac Adza Tettey, who led the Volta Trade Fair Team, expressed his appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi and Staff of BPA for the Project and its economic impact on the surrounding communities as well as its tourism promotion.

He urged Engineering Departments of the universities to take the opportunity to engage the BPA in practical lessons at the TGS, since it was constructed by Ghanaian Engineers.
