The CEO Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi has commissioned a local construction firm, First Sky Construction limited to begin work on a 50MWp Solar Project in Yendi in the Northern Region.
Accompanied by the Municipal Chief Executive of Yendi, Ahmed Yussuf Abubakar, the team first called on the Chief of Galgu, Galgu-Naa, in whose locality the 50MWp Solar farm would be situated.
The Galgu-Naa expressed his excitement about the project and prayed for its successful execution. The CEO assured the Naa that his staff will work with the highest standard of professionalism that is synonymous with Bui Power Authority.
The plant, when complete will aid the alleviation of power issues in the immediate environs of Yendi as well as in the Northern parts of Ghana. The CEO and his delegation also paid a courtesy call to King of the Dagbon Kingdom, Ndan Ya Na Abubakari II. Forming part of the delegation was the Chairman of the First Sky Group of companies along with members of his staff.
Ya Na Abukari II, thanked BPA as well as the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, for bringing this project to Yendi. He assured the CEO and the Chairman of the full support of the people of Yendi which will ensure that the project is successfully executed.
Hon. Samuel Kofi Dzamesi thanked the Ya Na for his hospitality and assured him that the project would be carried out professionally and efficiently He also promised that the contractor (First Sky Group), would complete the project ahead of the scheduled duration of 13 months.
Receiving the delegation, Ya-Na Abukari II, thanked BPA as well as the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, for choosing to undertake the 50MWp Solar Project in Yendi.
Ya-Na Abukari II assured the contractor, First Sky Group of his maximum support and that of the indigenes of Yendi for the successful execution of the project.
First Sky Construction will pre-finance and execute the project which will be an avenue for new jobs in the area.
